What is SoonerSelect?

As of April 1, 2024, many SoonerCare members are now getting their healthcare covered in a new way — through SoonerSelect health and dental plans. SoonerSelect members will be provided with health care through a health plan — similar to a health insurance plan. You’ll get the same health care services offered by SoonerCare, but some plans may offer extra benefits to help you improve your health.

This new system is called a managed care system and is a way to deliver more and better healthcare to you.

What Do I Need to Do?

Visit MySoonerCare.org to view all three plans, compare benefits and search providers. If you have questions or need help picking a plan, visit MySoonerCare.org or call the SoonerCare Helpline at 800-987-7767.

Your healthcare will be covered through the new plan, beginning April 1, 2024. You will be able to switch your SoonerSelect plan during the open enrollment period each year.

OU Health is in network with all three insurance plans.

  • Oklahoma Complete Health
  • Humana Healthy Horizons of Oklahoma
  • Aetna Better Health of Oklahoma

Please anticipate updating your insurance information at your next appointment at OU Health. We ask that you come prepared with the following to help reduce any delays.

  • Bring insurance ID card
  • Know Oklahoma Healthcare Authority (OCHA) Membership ID
  • Arrive 15-20 minutes before appointment to update information
Choosing a Primary Care Provider

Each health plan asks you to select a primary care provider. A primary care provider is a doctor specialized in:

  • Family Medicine
  • Internal Medicine
  • Pediatrics

Your PCP can also be an advanced practice provider like a nurse practitioner (N.P.) or a physician assistant (P.A.). You must choose a provider in your new health plan. They will look after your health, refer you to specialists if you need them, and coordinate all your care needs.
