What Does SoonerCare Cover?

SoonerCare (Medicaid) covers important preventive medical care as well as specialty care for chronic conditions and illnesses. SoonerCare covers up to 4 primary and specialty care visits per month. Some of the covered services include:

  • Preventive Care
Preventive care are routine doctor's appointments such as visiting your primary care doctor once a year or receiving age-appropriate routine cancer screenings like colonoscopies and mammograms. For women, annual well woman exams are also considered preventive care.
  • Maternity Care
Maternity care covered under Medicaid (SoonerCare) includes your important prenatal care and regular doctor's visits. In addition, you and your baby's care at the hospital is also included as well as post-natal follow-up care for moms.
  • Mental Health
Mental health is an important part of your overall wellbeing. Medicaid provides coverage for mental health services included therapy visits and prescriptions, if needed.
  • Urgent Care
Urgent care is a great option when you are not feeling well. Not all illness or accidents require an emergency room visit. Often, a provider in an urgent care setting can provide the most appropriate care.
  • Other Benefits Include
Other important benefits covered by Medicaid include, but are not limited to: prescriptions, hospital services, interpretative services, and more.
